wanted to approach it from a different angle than what’s typically seen. Rather than relying on the usual vibrant, high-energy aesthetic often associated with Miku, I drew inspiration from two photographers whose work explores light and atmosphere in a more contemplative way: Hiroshi Sugimoto, known for his long exposures and ethereal, minimalist compositions, and Michael Kenna, whose soft, almost dreamlike imagery often features gentle bloom and tonal subtlety. What makes this series unique is that, unlike the monochrome work of Sugimoto and Kenna, I chose to shoot in colour. My aim was to let the model remain the central focus, while using lighting and backdrop intentionally to support — rather than overpower — the subject. The result is a calm, almost meditative take on an otherwise energetic and iconic character, blending softness with modernity.
